What is it about research in natural resource management that makes it so good?

Speaker: Stuart Pearson

Location: 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in Building 6, Level C, Room 12

Stuart Pearson took a break from academia to work in one of Australia’s Research and Development Corporations and discovered some things that are interesting.  In this seminar he will provide some insights from his experience as a senior knowledge broker and innovation program manager. He gained some experience in the area of knowledge and adoption, achieving policy influence and in deliberately knowing the impact of research.  It may change the way you think about research and open a new avenue for your efforts.

Stuart now works in the Department of Defence after nearly 8 years at the UNSW Canberra (at ADFA) teaching geography where his research included palaeoecology and natural resource management policy.  He is a visitor at UNSW Canberra and  involved in the emerging strategic and military geography area of research and in Defence Estate Management.
